Edinburgh

Scotland’s capital city is ablaze with colourful activities all year round.

From the Edinburgh Festival (the largest arts festival in the world) and the spectacular Military Tattoo in the summer months, to the Hogmanay celebrations at New Year, there’s something here to provide fun and fascination for everyone.

Edinburgh Castle is full of historic intrigue, and the Royal Mile has some great shopping opportunities you’ll pass as you stroll past fascinating museums and churches. At the bottom of the Royal Mile you’ll find the Scottish Parliament building and the British monarch’s official residence in Scotland, The Palace of Holyrood House, both open for visits.

Edinburgh International Airport has regular flight connections from across the globe and is only 15-30 minutes from the city centre either by car or public transport. The city also makes a great base to explore further afield in Scotland, by heading to the stunning cities and towns such as Glasgow, Stirling, St Andrews, and Dundee! For a longer, more detailed visit to Scotland, spend a week or more touring the dramatic landscapes of the Scottish Highlands, heading to the beautiful and far-flung Western Isles, or the island groups of Orkney or Shetland, each with their distinct personalities and landscapes.
